Type two
HOW THEY MANIPULATE
It is important to note that all Enneagram types are capable of both healthy and unhealthy behavior, and manipulative behavior is not limited to Type 2. However, Type 2, also known as the Helper or the Giver, has a tendency to manipulate others in order to get their needs met.
One way that Type 2s may manipulate others is by using flattery and charm to get what they want. They may use compliments and praise to build up the other person's ego and make them feel good, which can make it easier for the Type 2 to ask for a favor or make a request.
Another way that Type 2s may manipulate others is by being overly helpful and accommodating. They may offer to do things for others even when it is not necessary or when it goes against their own needs and interests. This can create a sense of indebtedness or obligation in the other person, making them more likely to do things for the Type 2 in return.
Type 2s may also use guilt as a tool for manipulation. They may make others feel bad for not accepting their help or for not reciprocating their kindness. This can create a sense of obligation in the other person and make them more likely to give in to the Type 2's requests.
It is important to note that these manipulative behaviors are not necessarily conscious or malicious on the part of the Type 2. They may stem from a deep-seated need for love and affirmation, and a fear of rejection or abandonment. However, it is important for Type 2s to be aware of these tendencies and work to develop healthier ways of getting their needs met without manipulating others.
