Type six
Vice
In Enneagram theory, the vice of Type 6, also known as the Loyalist or the Questioner, is often described as fear or anxiety. Type 6s may be highly attuned to potential threats or risks in their environment, and may struggle with feelings of uncertainty or insecurity.
Type 6s may be prone to anxiety or worry, and may struggle with making decisions or taking action without sufficient information or support. They may seek out reassurance or validation from others, and may be highly dependent on authority figures or groups that they perceive as providing a sense of safety or protection. Type 6s may also be prone to self-doubt or second-guessing, as a way to avoid potential risks or negative outcomes.
The vice of fear or anxiety can manifest in a variety of ways for Type 6s, such as seeking out safety and structure in their environment, avoiding new or unfamiliar situations, or becoming highly reactive or defensive in response to perceived threats or challenges. While Type 6s may value their own sense of loyalty and commitment, their preoccupation with fear and anxiety can also lead to a lack of trust or confidence in themselves and others.
It is important for Type 6s to recognize and address their tendencies towards fear or anxiety, and to cultivate a greater sense of self-assurance and trust in their own abilities and judgment. This may involve learning to rely on their own intuition and inner guidance, practicing self-validation and assertiveness, and developing a more open and adaptable approach to their own experiences and relationships. By embracing a more confident and self-reliant approach to their lives, Type 6s can overcome their tendency towards fear and achieve greater fulfillment and satisfaction.
