Type eight

Virtue

In Enneagram theory, the virtue of Type 8, also known as the Challenger or the Protector, is often described as innocence or mercy. Type 8s may be highly focused on asserting their power or control, and may struggle with feelings of vulnerability or betrayal.

The virtue of innocence for Type 8s involves cultivating a greater sense of compassion and vulnerability, and learning to recognize and honor the needs and perspectives of others. Type 8s who embrace innocence are able to connect more deeply with their own experiences and relationships, and are able to find greater satisfaction and fulfillment in their own lives.

Innocence can also involve a willingness to acknowledge and accept the value of kindness and compassion, and to recognize the power and strength that can come from embracing vulnerability and empathy. Type 8s who cultivate innocence are able to find a greater sense of inner peace and acceptance, by recognizing and embracing the full range of their own experiences and emotions.

It is important for Type 8s to recognize and embrace their own virtue of innocence, and to cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and empathy. This may involve learning to challenge their own tendencies towards control or aggression, practicing vulnerability and openness in their relationships, and developing a more balanced and compassionate approach to their own experiences and relationships. By embracing their own virtue of innocence, Type 8s can overcome their tendency towards domination and achieve greater fulfillment and satisfaction in their own lives and relationships.
